You have every reason to be excited about 2017! You have a dazzling year ahead, for the planets have moved into very positive positions that will support you in many ways from many quarters. The three power planets, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus—the latter is your ruling planet—are all in unusually helpful and supportive mathematical positions.
Let’s start with Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, which is now in air-sign Libra in what astrologers call a “trine” position—120 degrees away from your Sun—considered the most harmonious aspect possible. Jupiter will likely support your health and efforts to find lasting love. Overall this year, Jupiter could make Earth a very happy place for you to be.
Jupiter in Libra might bring you special gifts this year, including the possibility of a memorable trip overseas. If you travel, make sure to take in the colors, scents, and sounds of the culture you are visiting and try some of the tempting foods. If you think you have too many responsibilities to go on a long trip, keep in mind that benefic Jupiter is known to not only provide the opportunity, but also the means to take advantage of it.
Education comes under the ninth house because the ancient astrologers deemed travel and higher education two ways to broaden the mind and learn more about the world. If you consider furthering your education, your timing may be ideal. Jupiter will help you see projects in their grandest, widest applications. If your life has become routine, you will enjoy the breathtaking changes that this and other trends this year will bring.
Another planet that will favor you is Saturn. As the great teacher planet, it challenges us, but through those vigorous tests it brings out the best in each of us. The goals achieved during this time usually make us proudest in life. Saturn has been moving through your 11th house of friends and groups. Over the past two years, since Saturn first entered this part of your chart, you may have taken a position of leadership in a club or charity. The skills you may have learned as a volunteer managing and motivating your team could be transferred to your day job. For being so kind to help those who have been overlooked by society, you may also see a benefit in your career.

Over the past two years, Saturn has been making a rare visit—just once every 29 years—to this part of your chart, and remains until December 19, 2017. You may have already noticed the trend regarding friends and groups since December 23, 2014. During Saturn visits, reward is often delayed, but when it comes—in this case, after December 19, 2017—it is very sweet indeed. Best of all, Saturn’s rewards tend to stay with you many years, possibly forever.
This year is unusual because Saturn will align with innovative, experimental Uranus in a “trine” position, where both planets are 120 degrees apart, forming one side of a triangle, the most harmonious aspect. Uranus’ involvement is significant, for it is your ruling planet and you can reap some of its best benefits. Saturn and Uranus will be in mathematical sync only during 2017 and then not again until 2047. This is a rare year that will combine Saturn’s stability with Uranus’ excitement, invention and risk—mainly in the digital realm—along with breakthroughs in humanitarian efforts.
Uranus is now in your third house ruling contractual matters and all the communication arts. You are learning to be original and imaginative in your expressions. Uranus is electrical, so your ideas can strike like lightning.
The third house, where Uranus is based these days, is the same area of your chart that rules short-distance travel. This means you may be able to take many spontaneous, short-distance trips throughout the year to refresh and rejuvenate yourself.
Uranus will remain in this house until March 2019, but during this special year you can have Saturn’s rare help. (Saturn takes 29 years to circle the Sun, and Uranus takes 84 years to make the same journey, which explains the rarity of getting these two planets in perfect sync.)
On October 10, when Jupiter moves to Scorpio to stay for 13 months, you could enter the most exciting period of professional growth in more than a decade. Eclipses bring massive changes in lifestyle in one area of life—get ready! The upcoming eclipses— February 10, August 10, and August 21—are in Aquarius and Leo, your opposite sign. (Leo is on the cusp of the house that rules your committed relationships in love or business.) You have not had eclipses in your sign since 2007 and 2008, and before that in 1998 and 1999. The ones in 1998 will be very close in sign and degree to the ones due in February and August, so maybe you can find a theme that surfaced back then.
