The large emphasis on career that marked June and July will temporarily quiet down now and not reactivate in a big way until November. This month is made for love and fun. Mars, the planet that shows where your focus will be, is now moving to Sagittarius on August 2 into your house of friendship and social groups. You may make a new friend this month, or you may join a new organization, such as a professional or social club, or you may join a humanitarian effort where you will work alongside caring, like-minded people. Mars is traveling in Sagittarius, so you may take a vacation to a distant land with a friend, and enjoy it to the hilt. If you join a charity, you will be very productive in bringing attention to a cause dear to you, and you may be able to raise considerable funds too. Mars will remain in friendly-to-Aquarius sign of Sagittarius until September 27.
All year, Mars has been a bit lazy because he was retrograde from April 17 to June 29. You may have found the end of March and early April to be a slow time too, for a planet about to turn retrograde begins to run down its little batteries. Finally, when Mars awakened on June 29, things improved, but the problem was, Mars was groggy – I can tell by looking at his mathematical speed of his orbit – so you had to be patient to work in a very organized, step-by-step way. It would take a while to see high-level productivity. That will come this month, August 22, when Mars will return to former strength. You don’t have to wait quite that long, however, because Mars will be strong enough to help you in early August, too, and because the other planets are acting like little fairy godmothers to your plans (more about that in a minute).
Near August 22, the day Mars at long last reaches the degree he was when he went retrograde back in April, watch to see if you hear any news that is startling or of special significance in some way. Whenever a planet goes direct (or retrograde) in the days surrounding the turnaround date, you will notice clues of what is to come. You may see some excellent news on August 22, not related to other good news due on that day that I will tell you about that later – it will emanate in another area of your life, most likely related to the kindness of a friend. Watch and see what comes up, and make a note on your calendar.
Now let’s go to the start of the month and go through it chronologically to see what is coming up for you.
On August 1, Saturn will be in perfect angle to the Sun, communicating in an outstandingly friendly way. The Sun rules your partnership house, covering your mate, person you hope to marry, or business partner or collaborators. Saturn is your ancient ruler, before Uranus was discovered, and therefore holds extra weight when deciphering your forecast. Saturn is moving through your friendship house now, so a friend is likely to touch you with the care she or he shows to you at this time. On the same day, Uranus, your modern day ruler, will be flirting with Venus, planet of love and fun. If you are traveling on this day, perhaps over a long weekend that you take (or if you take an entire week off), you’ll love your time in a new location. It’s alternatively possible that you will get an exciting text, email, or phone call quite out of the blue.
A very important date will be August 2, the new moon in Leo, 11 degrees and brightening your partnership house. You might be getting engaged or married in the first week, or in the two weeks that follow this outstanding new moon. It will be so friendly, you will have only blue skies and no clouds in your sky. You might make a business association official by signing papers, as an alternative way to use this new moon, and if you do, it would be a good idea. Saturn will be beaming his gifts of longevity to all you do. A promise made will be a promise kept in the two weeks following this new moon. (The closer you act to the appearance of the new moon – AFTER it appears August 2 – the better, for with each passing day, the power of the new moon declines slightly, until it reaches the full moon and its energy is fully spent.) Again, Uranus, your modern ruler, will be exceptionally friendly, so what comes up will probably be what you don’t expect, but you will be happy about it!
If your birthday falls on January 30, plus or minus four days, you will feel the effects of this new moon quite directly. In similar fashion, if you have Aquarius rising, 11 degrees, plus or minus five degrees, you, too, will benefit from this new moon August 2. If you have your natal horoscope, look to see if you have a planet at 11 degrees Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, or a natal moon in those signs and close to 11 degrees. If so, then you, too, will see powerful, happy developments involving friends.
Next, you have a dazzling day, August 16, when unpredictable, surprise-a-minute Uranus will be exchanging golden beams with the Sun. Again, a partner in love or business will make you VERY happy. Collaborations of all kinds shine, and confessions of love (if this is how the aspect asserts itself) will tingle your spine.
The full moon this month falls on August 18 in Aquarius 26 degrees, the only time this year that this will happen. Something dearly important to you – so close to your deepest desire, even I cannot tell you what that might be, but you know what it is – will come to fruition. Full moons bring closure and a sense of completion. AGAIN, Uranus, your ruler, will be out and about protecting you like a big bodybuilder bodyguard, and again you’ll be surprised about what comes up. I think you will love this full moon, which will be operative for a plus or minus four days from the date it occurs – that will bring you through the weekend of August 20-21, when the full moon may wait to develop its news.
If your birthday falls on February 14, plus or minus four days, this full moon will especially benefit you. The same is true if you have Aquarius rising 26 degrees, or if you have a natal planet or natal moon at that degree in Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius. I am splitting hairs here for I feel EVERY Aquarian will be excited by what comes up. If you fit any of these categories I mentioned here with those degrees, then you will feel this full moon in a big way.
Now we come to two sparkling dates that will fall near August’s end. Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, has been touring your house of money since August 2015, an entire year, and so the past year must have been quite lucrative for you. If not, you will get another shot at seeing a generous amount of cash come to you, all in one sum.
That date to watch will be August 21-22, when Mercury and Jupiter will conjoin in a very rare aspect. This happens once a year, but once every twelve years in the constellation of Virgo. On this day you should do very well in regard to financial news you hear. Make out applications for a loan, mortgage, scholarship or financial aid, venture capital, or other funds early in the month, for by August 22 you may get very good news that your application has been approved or that a large sum of money is coming to you from another source.
Mercury also is the natural ruler of your house of true love, so August 21-22 may mark a highly romantic time for you, when you meet someone new, or grow closer to the person you are with now. If you meet someone new, it will not be at work, but rather at a gathering or party. The connection between you will be highly electric, and you will be instantly attracted to one another. If you are attached, or dating, you certainly can fan the fires of love on these days.
Just a few days later, August 27, Venus will conjoin Jupiter too, and this aspect is even more rare. While these two financial planets (and yes, Venus is considered financial as well as Jupiter) tend to meet once a year, they have not met in Virgo since August 23, 1992. Venus and Jupiter will meet on August 27! These two planets were supposed to meet in Virgo in November 2004, but they skipped forward to Libra, not meeting in Virgo. You see, this is a very special date!
On this day, August 27, you may hear outstandingly good news about money AGAIN! I have no idea where this money will be stemming from, so you may want to buy a charity raffle ticket, because you could win! Your money could emanate from a loan, mortgage, cash gift, investor, or other source, so don’t spend too much on tickets of chance. If you are lucky, you could win if you only buy one or two tickets.
Venus is the natural ruler of your fourth house of home, so if you are looking to buy, sell, or lease an apartment or house, be out looking on August 27, for sure! All kind of home-related matters will shine, and if you have been concerned about one of your parents’ welfare or health, good news could arrive on August 27 as well. This day would also be heavenly for travel, for Venus ALSO rules your ninth house of distant shores.
Get as much done this month as you can, for from August 30 to September 22, Mercury will go retrograde. During that time, you will face obstacles and delays, so stay far away from August 30 when signing a contract, accepting a new job, or buying electronics. It is never wise to do these types of activities during a Mercury retrograde because its very action is a signal that the wind is about to change direction. If you base your assumptions on present facts, you will be sorry, as new conditions are coming in, and it would be better to wait to see the lay of the land. You can act on contracts now, however, and buy your electronics now, but keep a wise space from the day you choose to act and the day Mercury goes retrograde, August 30.
You will feel the impending slowdown at least ten days before August 30. I particularly like August 16 for shopping for digital products, for Uranus, planet ruling all newly invented products, will be beautifully oriented to the Sun. If you have to decide on whether to take a job or not, the question is, have you been out of work a long time? If so, take the job. You can always switch jobs later if you feel the job is not how it was described to you during the interview process. Once you have a job, you can always find a new job easier than if you are out of work, as unfair as that statement sounds. Also, if you know the person you will work for, or had worked at the company previously, you can take the job, as it’s not new to you, and you are safe. Mercury is pleased when you go back to the past to continue a relationship, or to continue an idea or job you had put aside for any number of reasons. Generally, however, I would prefer you start a new job now, rather than when Mercury is retrograde.
You have an outstanding forecast for the month of August, dear Aquarius, and may leave the month with happy romantic memories, with more money than when you entered August, and within four days of the full moon, August 18, with a dream that you’ve had for quite a while that you will finally see come true. Wow.

This will be a big month, for a romantic or business partnership will be very much on your mind. Fortunately, August will have none of the delays and re-dos of previous months – you have a solidly strong month until Mercury turns retrograde August 30 until September 21. Until that happens, you will achieve much, and will likely end the month with the exciting prospect of seeing yourself in an entirely new light.
At the very start, your life will be glowing. August 1 brings Venus and Uranus in ideal sync. This is a flirtatious, breezy influence, perfect for meeting someone new. Venus will be in warm-heated, fire-sign Leo, and Uranus, in fire-sign Aries – both blend perfectly with your air-sign element of Aquarius.
On August 2, you will have an exceptionally supportive new moon in Leo, opening a path toward a coming together with a partner, in love or business. This will be no ordinary new moon – this one is filled with sugar and spice. If you feel you are at the stage where you are ready to make a commitment, do it within the ten days that follow that new moon. Saturn will be elegantly positioned to this new moon, adding a very strong element of longevity to all your actions. If you are already committed in marriage or an established relationship, you can nevertheless draw up plans to accomplish a new dream that you both share.
Keep in mind that if you are in business and need a new agent, publicist, manager, lawyer, business partner, or other person to help you get ahead, this new moon will stabilize your business by making your choice now.
If you are single and not dating, your best days will be, as said, August 1, and also August 16, when the Sun and your ruler, surprise-a-minute Uranus, will trade friendly beams.
A very big day will occur on the full moon in Aquarius, August 18, a time when something of great importance to you will come to fruition. This will be a key moment in the year. You might also take stock of your priorities, study your disappointments and setbacks, your progress and triumphs, and decide what should come next. This is a very happy moment for you, and I feel, a time of celebration. You may decide to do a radical change to your looks too, for the changes within you are going deep – proof of that often are shown with a change in appearance. With your own ruler so very positively oriented to that full moon, you may announce a sudden decision – and with a new moon so friendly, that decision will likely be one you’ve thought through, are sure about taking, and are excited to announce.
In love, as you see, attached Aquarians will do best. However, as mentioned earlier, August 1 will be a blue-ribbon day, when you may quite suddenly feel Cupid’s arrow of love. Venus will be in Leo during the first four days of August, another plus.
On August 16, the Sun and Uranus will trade signals, and you again will benefit in matters of the heart. Attached or single, this day is for you. If you are traveling during this week, this day will be a standout. Are you attached? The Sun is the natural ruler of your solar seventh house of partnership and marriage, and because your ruler is having a meeting with the Sun on your behalf, exciting results should surface. As you see, this day has goodies for all Aquarians, single, married, or in a long-term established relationship.
News about love or money – or both – could be thrilling on the day Mercury conjoins Jupiter, a once-a-year event, on August 21-22. If you are single, socialize, for this day will glow like a twinkling star in the midnight sky. Another peach of a day will be August 27, when Venus will have her annual meeting with Jupiter. What a lovely day this will be for travel over long distances. Wait until after Mercury goes direct next month (August 30 to September 21) to buy large, expensive furniture or other items for the home.
