August might well mark a rare and important turning point for your career. Chances are you will be very happy with developments. All year, Mars has been languishing by creeping along the sky with little power. Mars is the planet that provides energy, drive, courage, and determination, but he was moving slowly in March and most of April, and then finally went retrograde April 17 to June 29. If you were involved in vital projects, you saw them move forward inch-by-inch, and it may have been maddening to have to wait through such a long period before you would see progress.
Like many people you know, when they awaken from a long sleep, they are groggy and out of sorts and need a little time to become clear-eyed, bushy-tailed, and raring to go. You may have had to schedule several redo’s and be patient through delays in March and April, and certainly it seems to have become worse in May and June, but relief was on the way. Life began to brighten in July, for although Mars was still a little tired from sleeping so long, you received definite clues that the pace was picking up.
Now, by August 22, Mars will be back to former power, moving ahead quickly like the action hero Mars is known to be. I know this because I can see the mathematical path of Mars. When he is retrograde, he needs twelve days to move one degree. When he is in fine shape, he needs only two days to go one degree.
Mars rules your earned income, so if you are self-employed, money owed to you was coming in very slowly, but thank goodness, you will be paid now, and your finances will be looking up. If you work for others, it was hard to nearly impossible to get a raise, but your outlook will improve too. Over the past two months, Mars had retrograded back into Scorpio, a favorable place for you, so you might have taken a long-distance trip, focused on broadcasting or print project, or on your goal to get a higher education. All these areas were to bring you gain.
Mars will now move into Sagittarius from August 5 to September 27 in a part of your chart that governs great status and professional progress. Your career is about to take center stage, for now, finally Mars is in strong position and will light your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement. When Mars leaves on September 27, you will have a brief period to catch your breath, and then later, by the new moon, November 29, you will be the subject of more favorable publicity and will likely get at least one offer for a new position. If you are self-employed, you will be able to work with a prestigious client who will raise your status in the industry.
Now let’s go through the month, starting at the top, for there are many sparkling aspects that you will enjoy and that will offer you an array of opportunity. Indeed, August is likely to be one of your very favorite months of 2016, with no rogue planets to throw you off course. You can achieve much.
The first day of the month is special. The Sun and Saturn will be in perfect sync, so any action you take on August 1 will have lasting benefits, for Saturn will supply solid stability. You may decide to do something for your health, such as to consult a doctor or have a procedure done, because the Sun is the natural ruler of your sixth house of health, ruling specifically the preventive measures you need to take to boost your constitution. Work projects will go well, too, and add to your reputation.
On August 2, the new moon will arrive, and it’s a honey of a new moon, full of sweetness and growing light. Saturn will signal the moon, suggesting your love life will become stable, and at work, your creativity will shine and garner much applause. This new moon will light your house of work and health, so again, this is the time to be thinking of ways you can stay healthy and become more fit. It would be a superb new moon to join a gym, or if you already belong to one, to explore a new group exercise class or hire a trainer to get you to the next level. Or, take up a new sport, and get a package of professional lessons. It’s also a good time to get your annual exam, including having your eyes tested, your teeth cleaned and checked, and other exams you know you need to do. I never advise you to do things I don’t do myself – I just went through that last month. It is time consuming, but that one half hour you spend at the doctor’s office can save your life. August is the perfect month for you to schedule appointments.
Many people try to get in shape on January 1, but I only shake my head no. Each sign of the zodiac has a specific time to start exercising and getting fit, and this is your turn – August 2 and in the two weeks that follow that new moon. The sooner you start AFTER the new moon arrives, the sooner you will benefit from the strong energy of this new moon. The way new moons work is that its energy is strongest just after it arrives (not before) and its energy gradually decreases as you get closer and closer to the full moon two weeks later. Here is another interesting point: the actions you take just after the new moon appears will have the power to affect you for a full year, until the next annual new moon arrives next year, August 21, to refresh the energy. New moons are very powerful.
The sixth house that is so lit up for you by the new moon August 2 is also the house of work projects, so if self-employed, your phone is about to ring, and new people will be clamoring for your goods or services. If you work for others, you are likely to get the most enviable project of the department, and while you work on it, demonstrate your talents, managerial ability, and your readiness to handle more.
A day when you may get fantastic financial news you’ve earned will be August 16, thanks to the cooperation of the Sun in your workaday project sector, and Uranus, planet of surprise, in your earned income sector. The money you will hear about suddenly won’t be money you win or are given as a gift, but rather, will be money you earn, and it seems to be linked to an assignment you did some time earlier. This same day may bring other news too, and it will be related to your health or fitness, that your goal to become stronger will show exciting progress.
By the time you reach the full moon on August 18, you will be craving rest and relaxation. This full moon will light your twelfth house of creativity, solitude, and secrets. It is possible you will hear about a secret or cook up one of your own. If you have needed to have physical therapy, a hospital stay, rehab help, or other protocol of medical treatments, full moons tend to bring an end to those treatments, or at the very least, to an encouraging plateau.
Now let’s talk about Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck. Jupiter has been touring your marriage and business partnership sector since August 2015 last year, so this year you may have become engaged or married, or felt much closer to your present partner. If you used Jupiter’s golden energy in terms of a business partnership, you received outstanding help from one or more business partners or collaborators. Your agent, manager, publicist, writing partner, business partner, investor, or others who bring expertise to your business are also among those who will be worth their weight in gold. If you regularly represent talent, for example, or you are a lawyer who represents various people, you will find that you have quite an important person to represent this month. You likely have a very good idea of what I am saying here, but in case not, you have one more chance to find out.
Jupiter is getting ready to buy his air ticket to fly to Libra, and to leave Virgo, where he is now. He is due to arrive in Libra on September 9. Once Jupiter leaves, he won’t have time to get back to this area of your chart for twelve years. That doesn’t mean you can’t get married for another twelve years (heavens, no!) but that you were to receive special luck from a business or romantic partner now, while Jupiter is in Virgo this year. You will certainly have more opportunities throughout your lifetime. You also need to check for your rising sign too.
This month, we have an extraordinary linking of two different planets on two different days with Jupiter while he is in his final days in Virgo, your opposite sign six months from your Pisces Sun.
The first shining day will be August 21-22 (the aspect spans two days) when Mercury will conjunct Jupiter. You may get engaged or married over August 20-21, or you may see that your business partner takes very special care of you and be touched by the gesture. Mercury also is the natural ruler of your fourth house of home and family, so you may benefit from real estate in some way. You may get a new apartment, or be able to sell a house, as two examples, or find the perfect space to lease, if not for your regular residence, then perhaps for a vacation home. You may get help from a family member too – if so, that person loves you and it shows. This will be an extraordinary day, for Venus and Jupiter have not conjoined in Virgo since August 23, 1992. Typically they meet every twelve years, but they skipped meeting in November 2004 and went directly to Libra. As you see, this month is special!
Finally the second day I would like to point out is August 27, when Venus and Jupiter align, another dazzler of a day! Both Jupiter and Venus are associated with money, and some students of astrology are surprised to learn that Venus is associated with your finances too. Indeed she is, so on this day you may learn of a royalty or commission you have made, which thrills you. Money appears to be soon directed your way, and it appears to be due through the actions of a partner or someone who is about to represent you. Venus also happens to be associated with your third house of quick travel, so you may get a last-minute invitation to go to a friend’s house in the country or to go with your partner on a getaway to a highly romantic spot.
If you still haven’t seen the gifts of Jupiter from a partner yet, you will likely see it by September 1, the first of two eclipses due next month. The eclipse that arrives on September 1 will arrive as a new moon solar eclipse in Virgo, in your house of partnership, so expect to hear news. New moons open doors to new opportunities and commitments – although this new moon is mixed in outlook, it will have a positive result. The second eclipse will be a full moon lunar eclipse in Pisces, September 16. I will talk about those eclipses in depth next month.
Get as much done as you can early in the month. Mercury will turn retrograde on August 30 and stay that way until September 21, so next month won’t be as productive. You will have more time for yourself, and it also means that September will enter quietly, which may please you after such a busy month in August! Don’t sign contracts with Mercury retrograde, and avoid buying electronics during these phases too. Judgment is off mainly because Mercury retrograde signals instantly that the wind is changing direction. Conditions are shifting, but you can’t see that truth quite yet. You will later, but it can take time to see the full picture. If you make your purchase based on priorities you have relied on up to now, you may be sorry later, because some of your priorities will shift.
If you need a computer, new smart phone, digital kitchen appliance, or any other electronic, buy it early in August. I like August 16, when Uranus will be in such a pleasing position to the Sun, for innovative Uranus rules the digital world. Don’t run up too close to Mercury retrograde, but instead leave space between your actions and the onset date of the retrograde, August 30. It’s best not to take a new job, but if you have been out of work a long time, do take it – later you will be able to find another job if you discover you don’t like this one. If you go back to a former boss or company you used to work for, then you are fine, as you are simply continuing a relationship you started earlier. This time, Mercury will retrograde in Virgo, so you may rethink a plan you had with a partner, or make adjustments in your relationship, or you may return to a matter that was never fully discussed and settled – now will be your chance to do so.
Summary
A particularly beautiful new moon on August 2 will make August the right time to address health matters. If you have put off seeing your doctor or dentist, make that call – with such superb aspects, especially from Saturn, the planet of long-term gain, you are likely to find your medical experience positive. Often the difference between being very healthy and not healthy at all will come down to making that one telephone call for an appointment. Additionally, as an aside, surprisingly good news about your health or fitness may come to you on August 16, when Uranus (surprises) reaches out to the Sun (health and vitality).
Going back to the same new moon, August 2, at that time you will be able to find and land new business if you are self-employed, or, if you are employed by others, you have a superb chance of being given the most juicy, plum assignments of the department, so ask for them. The admiration you gain from VIPs and co-workers alike from your fine performance this month will be lasting and contribute to your ever evolving, growing reputation. With Saturn in your house of fame, you are in a very important phase, when you can establish yourself as an expert in your field, and garner applause and honors as soon as December.
Saturn will go direct this month on August 13, and this means that after months of being retrograde since March 25, you will see amazing progress now in your career.
By August 18, the full moon in Aquarius, you may want to withdraw from social activity and treat yourself to quiet solitude. Pisces likes solitude and generally do their best thinking when alone, and because you absorb the feelings of others so easily – like a sponge – you need time to rinse yourself of other’s cares so you can return to a sense of peace and balance. This full moon would be a good time to exercise gently, pray, reflect, and to work in a leisurely way on your craft. Uranus, the planet of genius, in fine angle to the full moon, will shower you with brilliant ideas. You might come up with a highly profitable one – Uranus is currently positioned in your second house of earned income and personal wealth. Share your ideas!
Your home, property, or a member of your family may bring sensational news on August 22, when Mercury will align perfectly with good fortune Jupiter. Your established partner, possibly in marriage, or in business, or a broker or other middleman seems to hold the key to your happiness and success on August 22.
Your partnership / marriage house will be lit brightly again by the meeting of Venus and Jupiter on August 27 in a very joyous aspect. Do you remember the song, “Aquarius”? Think about the part that goes, “When the moon is in the seventh house” (you will have that at the eclipse September 1) “and Jupiter aligns with Mars”…. Well, you don’t have Jupiter aligning with Mars, but you have something better – Jupiter will align with Venus, the planet of love, in your seventh house of marriage. That means, as the song continues, “Then peace will guide the planets, and love will steer the stars.” Your forecast for experiencing deeply committed, joyous love is outstanding and so very possible this month.
This is as good as it gets, dear Pisces. Keep in mind that this is the first time Venus will align with Jupiter in your solar seventh house of marriage and partnership in several decades, so these days will be as rare as diamonds. Even if you are attached a long time, it still can be a tender, touching time for you both. Carve out time for each other and do something special on this weekend date. Giving your full attention to the person you love without any distraction is the finest gift you could ever give.
Finish up all your plans by month’s end. Mercury will go retrograde from August 30 to September 22. You may enjoy the slow pace of September. You will have a chance to think, to reconnect with old friends, and if you are newly dating, to decide about the future of your new relationship. If you decide an ongoing love relationship is not for you, you will leave. Overall, however, you have such sensational aspects, it seems only love will be in your eyes this month.
